Dangote
Sugar Refinery Plc commenced business in March 2000 as the sugar division of Dangote
Industries Limited. The sugar-refining factory at Apapa port was commissioned
in 2001 with an initial installed capacity to process 600,000 MT of raw sugar
per annum.
The refinery has since undergone two expansions increasing the
production capacity to about 1.44 million MT per annum, making it the largest
sugar refinery in sub Saharan Africa and second largest in the world.
1. Electrical Technician
Key Responsibilities
Ø Perform on line maintenance checks to
ensure motors and panels function optimally.
Ø Take apart where necessary motors for
examination and or repairs
Ø Use meter and hand-held equipment to
diagnose components that need repair.
Ø Maintain log book for recording all
operation and activities of the unit.
Qualification & Experience
Ø Technical certificate parts 1 & 2,
C and G or OND in Electrical Engineering with five (5) years relevant
experience in electrical equipment maintenance in the food and allied
industries.
Ø Not more than 35 years
Ø Electrical and mechanical knowledge
Ø Attention to details and possess good
sense of judgment.
Ø Equipment maintenance knowledge and
skills

2. Mechanical
Technician
Key Responsibilities
Ø Perform online maintenance checks to
ensure machines function optimally.
Ø Use meter and hand-held tools to
diagnose components that need repair.
Ø Take apart equipment to examine or
repair parts.
Ø Reassemble equipment and test for
performance and safety.
Ø Maintain logbook for recording all
operations and activities of the plant.
Qualification & Experience
Ø Technical certificate parts I & II,
C & G or OND in mechanical engineering with.
Ø Six (6) years relevant experience in
mechanical maintenance work in heavy
Ø Engineering industries preferably in
the food and allied industries.
Ø Not more than 35 years.
Ø Electrical and Mechanical knowledge
Ø Attention to details and possess good
sense of judgment
Ø Sound maintenance skills in handling
conveyors, heating and pressure Vessels, pumps and clarifiers.

3. Turbine Operator
Key Responsibilities
Ø To ensure efficient and uninterrupted
power generation and supply to the refinery and other subsidiary companies in
accordance with set target.
Ø Responsible for maintaining accurate
records of power house activities.
Ø Monitor readings of filed gauges and
other instrument of the equipment to ensure efficient operation of the plant.
Ø Perform regular maintenance such as
cleaning of the power house and lubricating the power house equipment.
Ø Maintain a logbook and record day to
day operational activities in the power house.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL BE REQUIRED TO WORK SHIFTS
Qualification & Experience
Ø Technical certificate parts 1 & 2,
C & G or OND in Mechanical Engineering with six (6) years relevant
experience on power plant including diesel gen- set, steam turbines, cooling
towers and air compressors in a food and allied industries.
Ø Candidate should not be more than 35
years old.
Ø Electrical and mechanical knowledge
Ø Attention to details and posses good
sense of judgment
Ø Sound power house plant operation
Ø Equipment maintenance knowledge and
skills Computer literate
4. Boiler Operator
Key Responsibilities
Ø Responsible for the operation of steam
boilers. Responsible for maintaining records of boiler parameters
Ø Monitor reading of field gauges and
panel board instruments for efficient operation of the boilers. Perform regular
maintenance such as cleaning the entire boiler house equipment and lubricating
feed pumps etc for operational efficiency and maximum steam supply.
Ø Maintain a logbook and record day to
day operational activities in the boiler house.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL BE REQUIRED TO WORK SHIFTS
Qualification & Experience
Ø A first degree or its equivalent in
mechanical engineering with minimum of 3 (three) years experience on boiler
operation in food and allied industries.
Ø Not more than 35 years.
Ø Electrical and Mechanical knowledge
Ø Attention to details and posses good
sense of judgment
Ø Sound understanding of Boiler
Operations Equipment Maintenance knowledge and skills.
5. Mechanical
Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
Ø Operate and maintain all material handling
equipments and other heavy duty equipment in the refinery.
Ø Maintenance of all refinery equipment,
including the use of verification, tools micrometers, machines etc.
Ø Responsible for the accurate
documentation and adherence to procedures in accordance with 1509001-2008
Qualification & Experience:
Ø A first degree or HND in Mechanical
Engineering or related discipline
Ø Candidate must have at least 5 (five)
years practical experience in food, and allied industries.
Ø Must have knowledge of Health, Safety
& Environment practice
Ø Pay attention to details, have very
strong analytical skills and be computer literate. Membership of COREN or NSE
is an added advantage
Ø Not more than 40 years
6. Instrument
Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
Ø Coordination of maintenance activities
for smooth and efficient operation in the refinery. Design, modify, configure
and commission new systems.
Ø Responsible for accurate documentation
and adherence to procedures in accordance with ISO 9001-2008
Ø Responsible for identifying
technologies for new applications
Qualification & Experience
Ø Minimum of first degree or HND in
Electrical Electronic Engineering for instrumentation and control engineering.
Ø Ability to prioritize and execute tasks
Ø At least 5 (five) years work experience
in an industrial, team oriented and collaborative environment.
Ø Strong interpersonal and consultative
skills
Ø Must have knowledge of Health, Safety
& Environment practice
Ø Pay attention to details and have
strong analytical skills
Ø Not more than 40 years
