What is NETS?
The National
Employment Training Scheme (NETS) is a collaboration between the Institute for
Advanced e-Studies (IAeS), the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) and
other stakeholders to combat unemployment. In NETS, successful candidates who
pass a written examination, are trained for FREE in various disciplines and
equipped with the exact skills required by employers.

specialized courses;
2. Pay you a stipend during training to
handle transport and other logistics;
3. Place you as interns in companies at
the end of the training;
4. Facilitate employment interviews for
you for certain companies
What are the benefits of the NETS programme?
In NETS, candidates
are trained at no cost whatsoever in specialized courses and then placed as
interns. At the end of the internship, full employment is offered to the
interns based on their performance and at the discretion of the participating
company. Employment interviews are also facilitated under NETS based on the
request from the participating organization.
The National
Employment Training Scheme (NETS) is a program that strives to achieve a
significant part of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), while also
addressing one of the biggest challenges facing the Nigeria today - the reduction
of unemployment and its attendant consequences on the Nigerian economy.
The program employs international human resource best practices to select Nigerians form across the country, and train these unemployed youths to acquire the exact competencies required by employers, thereby bridging the skills gap which has been the most frequent reason given for the low employment rates in Nigeria.

The main objective of this scheme is to proffer
quality training on a full-scholarship basis to a large number of individuals
across all states of the federation based on their performance in the selection
process, and facilitate the placement of successful candidates in companies in
Nigeria as interns.
