Celtel one of the largest telecommunication companies in Africa requires the service of a Technical Officer (Access Transmission Network Planning)
Responsible for the planning, provisioning and optimization of the transmission access network (aligned to RF plans) in order to ensure timely and economic provisioning of sufficient transmission capacities to meet network growth
Role Description:
Provide transmission design & plan to support RF plans. Prepare link engineering reports documentation (LERs) for approval to support CELTEL rollout projects. Provide engineering high level support to operational team in the regions. Recommend alternative and effective solution where Microwave LOS technology cannot be deployed Ensure synergy with Regional RF team, Regional TX Implementation and Regional Rollout teams to produce high productivity. Review for approval all transmission plans and materials request made for the network by suppliers/vendors. Make recommendations on the procurement of transmission equipment and draw up the respective bill of quantities Assist project management with the implementation of contractual obligations and clauses in the supply agreements. Investigate and evaluate available transmission technologies and recommend cost effective and efficient equipment specification for use in the network. Compile, implement and oversee the necessary installations and acceptance policies, procedures, work practice and specifications Maintain site documentation and records on transmission links, allocated spectrum use, equipment and network layout plans. Co-ordinate Line-Of-Sight Survey Participate in Technical Site Survey Ensure LOS survey and report for BSS and TX plans are completed for the sign-off of TSS (2nd cut) documents.
Qualification A University degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or Communication Engineering. Fresh NYSC graduate with strong academic qualification will be considered.
