IMMIGRATION & PRISONS SERVICES RECRUITING TO VARIOUS CATEGORIES
FEDERAL MINISTRY OF INTERIOR (PRISONS AND IMMIGRATION SERVICES) is recruiting...
Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified persons for full time appointments to the following positions in the Nigerian Prisons and Immigration Services
CATEGORY A
(1) SUPERINTENDENT CADRE
a) General Duties
b) Professionals
c) Pharmacists
d) Medical Doctors
e) Architects
f) Civil Engineers
g) Mechanical Engineers
h) Building Engineers
i) Computer Scientists/ Engineers
(PRISON ONLY)
a) Veterinary Doctors
b) Industrial Managers
c) Estate Managers/ Town Planners
Applicants must possess a minimum of first degree from a recognized University.
CATEGORY B
(1) INSPECTORATE CADRE
a) Inspectors
Applicants must be holders of HND obtained from accredited Polytechnics
b) Assistant Inspectors
Applicants must be holders of NCE/OND obtained from a recognized Institution or GCE “A” level in two subjects obtained at a sitting or three subjects obtained at two sittings.
c) Prisons/ Immigration Assistant II (1A)
Applicants must be holders of SSCE or its equivalent with credit in not less than five subjects with English Language and Mathematics inclusive. In case of GCE “O” Level, applicants must possess five credits at not more than two Sittings including English Language.
d) Prisons/ Immigration Assistant III(1A)
Applicants must be holders of S.75 from government approved secondary school or JSSCE
CATEGORY C
ARTISANS
a) Refrigerators and Air-condition Technicians;

c) Carpenter and Joining, Painting and Decoration

Applicants must be holder of S.75 from government approved secondary schools or JSSCE in addition to Trade Test Certificates.
2. METHOD OF APPLICATION
CATEGORY A
Interested candidates are to submit to State Prisons/Immigration Commands nearest to them hand written applications accompanied with copies of
*Curriculum vitae
*Birth certificate/declaration of age relevant credentials
*Letter of identification endorsed by the chairman/secretary of your Government Area.? Two recent passport photographs
*NYSC discharge or exemption certificate and addressed to:
The Director/Secretary,
Civil Defence, Immigration and Prison Service Board,
Gwagwalada, FCT.
CATEGORIES B and C
Candidates are to submit their handwritten applications to their nearest State/Immigration Commands accompanied with items listed (2A above). Detailed information will be provided by state command of prison / Immigration Services, addressed to the:
Comptroller-General of Immigration/Controller-General of Prisons
Immigration/Prisons Headquarters,
Abuja.
3. NOTE:
I. Any certificate or qualification not declared or tendered and accepted at a recruitment centre is not acceptable after recruitment
II. Applicants must be Nigerians by birth.
III. Applicants must be medically fit and must produce certificate of medical fitness from a government hospital.
IV. Candidates with any of the following problems need not apply:
a. Sight problem;
b. Ear problem;
c. previous major orthopedic operation;
d. Flat foot
e. Fracture stammering or any natural deformity.
* Applicants must (not) be less than 1.68 meters for male and 1.65 meters for females
*Applicants must (not) be above 30 years of age as the time of recruitment.
*Applicants must be free from previous convictions by a court of law or tribunal on criminal grounds &
*Applicants who are computer literate will be given preference.
4. SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS
i. All application accompanied with the relevant documents should be submitted not later than six (6) weeks from 11th April, 2008 .
ii. Aptitude tests for the superintendent cadre will be held on Saturday 21st June, 2008 in the following centers: Lagos, kaduna, Bauchi, Minna, Owerri, Ibadan, Benin and Markudi.
iii. All successful candidates in the Superintendent Cadre will be published in two dailies and will be required to attend an interview at civil defence, Immigration and Prisons Services Board, Gwagwalada, Abuja
iv. Names of short-listed candidates for the Inspectorate and other cadres will be displayed at the various State Commands.
Interview dates will be announced in due course.
