- Researches, plans, designs, and administers building projects for clients, applying knowledge of design, construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials
- Consults with client to determine functional and spatial requirements of new structure or renovation, and prepares information regarding design, specifications, materials, colour, equipment, estimated costs, and construction time.
- Plans layout of project and integrates engineering elements into unified design for client review and approval.
- Prepares scale drawings and contract documents for building contractors.o Represents client in obtaining bids and awarding construction contracts.
- Administers construction contracts and conducts periodic on-site observation of work during construction to monitor compliance with plans.
- May prepare operating and maintenance manuals, studies, and reports.o May use computer-assisted design software and equipment to prepare project designs and plans.
- Direct activities of workers engaged in preparing drawings and specification documents
Requirements:
- Master degree in Architecture
- 10 years cognate experience in Architectural planning, designing and administration
- Ability to use IT in design and project management, specifically AutoCADo Ability to successfully lead a project team to achieve set goals
- Membership of relevant professional body is an added advantage
2. Civil/Structural Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Develop conceptual design, project specifications, detailed design and engineering
- Have the flexibility to apply engineering skills across industry sectors
- Work with clients and stakeholders to develop solutions that exceed their expectations
- Carry out high quality and, at times, complex structural design and assessment calculations
- Review contractors schedules, specifications, drawings, calculations and material approvals
- Work within a team of skilled engineers
Requirements:
- Bachelor in Civil Engineering
- 5 - 7years relevant experience in Structural Engineering
- Able to make detailed design and assessment calculations using Excel and AutoCAD.
- Ability to work on multi-disciplinary and complex projects
- Able to assist in the preparation of technical reports
- Membership of relevant professional body will be an added advantage
3. Mechanical /Electrical Engineers
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical guidance and support to contractors.
- Coordinate with concerned departments at the Project, and ensure the availability of required plant, equipment and materials, to execute their part of the job.
- Work closely with contractors to ensure work execution per applicable drawings and specifications.
- Follow up and report on all contractor’s activities.
- Supervise the installation works at construction sites to verify the state of equipment, quality of work and compliance with requirements and specifications.
- Review engineering design drawings and assisting in creating shop-drawings and work execution instructions.
- Participate in engineering activities between Project teams and contractors including equipment installation, testing and commissioning.
- Develop method statements for system installation and test procedures for systemoperation.
- Assist in procurement of electrical and mechanical components, equipment, and material.
- Review equipment problems such as poor performance, reduced availability, loss of efficiency or loss of capacity; determine root causes, propose and implement solutions to problem areas.
Requirements:
- Bachelor in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 5-7 years of work experience in design and supervision role
- Field experience and background with related power equipment, systems and plant performance
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure
- Membership of relevant professional body is an added advantage
